Stilleben
Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft founded Stilleben in Copenhagen in 2002 — a design store, a studio and a way of seeing the world. Their work is rooted in the beauty of everyday life: the table shared with friends, the texture of a glaze, the quiet pleasure of an object that simply feels right.
From Tokyo to the table
A visit to Tokyo deepened something Stilleben had always sensed — that Japanese and Danish design share an instinct for the essential. The culture, the craft, the tradition of distinct and highly skilled making: it resonated immediately.
That encounter found its way into Yoko and Shiro — a tea collection and a bowl series that carry the purity of white porcelain with quiet confidence. Each piece holds its form without demanding attention. Each one is designed to be used, and to be loved over time.
