Vermland Showroom Copenhagen

Two Enso Raw pendants in natural oak hang above the island in Vermland's Copenhagen showroom.

The kitchen beneath them is built from solid oak frames. A slower way to make a kitchen, and a deliberate one. Vermland chose the pendants themselves.

A shared belief in natural materials

What brings Vermland and Motarasu together is not a shared aesthetic but a shared method: build the thing properly, and let the material carry the result.

Vermland's kitchens are made from interlocking solid wood frames, handcrafted in Denmark, designed to be assembled by the people who will use them. Enso is a single sheet of washi, self-supporting, with no internal frame. The paper holds its own shape. Two very different objects, arrived at the same way. Neither hides its construction, and neither needs to.

Timeless Japanese simplicity meets Nordic warmth

Enso in the kitchen

Above the island the pendants do the work a kitchen light has to do, and read as part of the room rather than as fittings.
