Designed by Ryota Yokozeki
Named after the Japanese word for cumulus cloud, Sekiun is formed from two rolled and layered sheets of specially coated washi paper. Its asymmetric form shifts with every angle.

Light diffuses softly through the washi paper, while warm shadows fold across the shade's surface, bringing the quality of sunlight filtered through clouds into the room.
Sekiun works well hung alone above a dining table, as a sculptural presence in a living space, or grouped in multiples for a rhythmic installation in larger interiors.
As a natural material, each shade is unique due to the individual fibres of the washi paper.

Sekiun is shipped in a compact tube-shaped package designed for secure transport and efficient storage while minimising unnecessary material waste.
Dust can be removed from both the inside and outside of the shade using a soft dry cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment. For more thorough cleaning over time, the shade can be opened and placed on a clean surface. Gently wipe using a soft cloth lightly wrung in lukewarm water.

The sky as a blueprint
Drifting like a cloud
Ryota's Sekiun pendant was born from a simple observation: that everyone, everywhere, has looked up at the sky and felt something. Cumulus clouds shift with the hour, the season, the light. No two moments are the same.
Made by rolling and layering two pieces of specially coated washi paper, Sekiun captures that same quality of change. Viewed from one angle it appears soft and full. From another, the layered shadows deepen. Like a cloud caught in sunlight, it warms the space around it - differently each time.
