Dawn Wall Lamp
Designed by Bly Studio
With its eye-catching geometric shape, Dawn is a centrepiece in any setting. The simple form holds a surprise: unfolded by hand, a strict circle transforms into a soft, curved shade.
Centred above a double bed or sofa, Dawn gives reading light to both sides from a single fixture, adjusted by hand and dimmed to warm - soft enough, turned low, to see by at night without disturbing the person beside you.
The first 100 pieces are individually numbered on the oak beam. Washi paper from Japan, oak from Denmark. Made in Denmark.
Winner of the Light category at Denmark's Next Classic 2022 and the Scandinavian Design Award 2023.

Dawn began with folding paper. Its designers, Eva and Anne, worked intuitively - folding sheet after sheet until a shape emerged that could hold light - and from that function the form almost drew itself.
The shade is the same coated Japanese washi paper used in our Enso and Sekiun 23 lamps, here given a light-tight foil backing so the light can be directed rather than simply diffused: focused where you read, soft everywhere else.
There is no button. You shape Dawn's light by hand: open up the lower part of the flexible shade and more light spills out, soft and spread; draw it closed and the light lowers, warmer and more contained. The natural oak beam holds the shade wherever you set it, its friction keeping the position — a tactile adjustment the body soon learns.
Positioned on the lower edge of the beam, two independent light sources give a second layer of control: each is switched and dimmed on its own by a brass lever, so one side can be bright for reading while the other stays low, or off. And Dawn dims to warm - rather than fading while staying the same cool tone, as most LEDs do, it shifts colour as it lowers, from a bright 3000K to a candle-like 1800K, the way an old incandescent bulb glows as it dims. T
urned right down, it becomes a soft night light: enough of a warm glow to orient yourself in the dark, without disturbing the person beside you. Even unlit, Dawn is a sculptural object to be enjoyed by day.

Unfolds the warmth of a new sunrise
Named for the day’s first appearance of light, Dawn symbolizes new beginnings and the gentle hope each sunrise brings. The warm wooden beam serves as a horizon line, with the lamp’s soft glow rising like morning sunbeams on calm water.
